The Story Behind the Bus
We searched nationwide for the perfect vehicle for our concept. Many (pre-fabricated) food trucks were a $100,000 or more--way out of our budget! Late one night after a few libations & hours online, Zack discovered a State of Virginia Corrections Bus for sale. It was an old prison bus filled with cells that had been used to transport people needing a second chance. It was a long shot, but we went for it and had it shipped to MN.
There were some sleepless nights waiting and wondering what would arrive on Irving Ave in Minneapolis. Then one morning, we received word, it was a few minutes away as we nervously waited on the front steps. When da bus came around the corner, we both looked at each other and smiled. Filled with cages, locks, and pictures of girlfriends hidden behind the walls (ask to see our bus mascot, “My Love”), we thought, “If these walls could talk”. We knew that this bus deserved a second chance too and the adventure began.
